I can’t even believe that I’m telling you this but I’m the mom of a woman over 40! I jokingly tell people I had her when I was six. 🤣 In addition to my oldest, Danielle (now 45), I have Chrissy, 36 and Nic, 27. 

Yes, they are spread way out (my dad used to joke that I was experiencing perpetual motherhood).

On top of all that, I recently became a "Mimi," thanks to the addition of two adorable grandsons.

I’m so grateful that my kids, their spouses and my grandsons live nearby. I love nothing more than to get together for vegan tacos and games when I’m not traveling!

In 1973, I made a commitment never to eat another animal again. It’s a value that I hold near and dear to my heart! At first, I just couldn’t bear the thought of eating anything I believed to have a soul (or eyes or a face or a mother).

Eventually, my reasons for being a vegetarian grew to include the welfare of the planet and the horrific conditions for animals in factory farming. These days, I am trying my very best to be a whole-food, plant-based vegan, although I do indulge in an occasional pizza when I’m in Italy. 

I’m sure you could have guessed this about me since my business is built on a foundation of travel. For years I rarely “gifted” myself a vacation. If I did, it was a week in the Caribbean so I could scuba dive. When I became a location-independent entrepreneur, I made up for lost time. What was supposed to be a gap “year” has turned into a gap lifestyle!

I’ve visited dozens of new destinations, my favorite being Italy. I’m a bit obsessed actually! I just love how passionate Italians are for just about anything. When I’m there, I feel so alive and free! 

When I’m not traveling, I’m either planning my next trip, helping someone else make plans, or talking about travel to everyone I meet. I don’t think I’ll ever be content to sit in one place too long. Like Helen Keller said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”

I’ll take experiences over things any day! Don’t get me wrong, when I moved to Belize and had to get rid of years and years of “stuff,” it was truly one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But it allowed me to simplify, travel often and focus on creating unforgettable, transformational experiences for both myself and my clients.

Information is necessary for expanding our knowledge, but pairing it with an actual hands-on event makes the knowledge come alive. That’s why I like retreats so much. They offer an opportunity to blend knowledge and experiences together to create memories that last a lifetime. 

My friends say I’m “lucky” but I don’t really believe in luck. I am a master at manifesting! I have won big prizes and little prizes but the best haul came in 2007 when I was on the Wheel of Fortune. I won a good chunk of cash, a trip to Aruba and a VW Beetle convertible. It was a blast being on that show and I promise to dig up the VHS tape one of these days and share!

I taught my first massage class not long after becoming a licensed therapist in Florida back in 1991. It was a workshop called “Launching a Career in Massage Therapy.” I was shocked and delighted when 50 people showed up. After that day I was hooked on teaching adults how to make a living doing something they were passionate about. 

In 1998, I founded a chain of massage and esthetic schools and helped hundreds of budding entrepreneurs launch their businesses. I still keep in touch with many of my former students and it warms my heart to know that I was instrumental in helping them find their calling. I’ve kept my massage license active so I can offer continuing education credits for therapists who participate in my retreats. A super cool bonus! 🙌

I’ve lost count how many times I’ve packed up everything I own and moved it to a new home, town, state or country. No, my parents weren’t in the military but I think my mom had a true gypsy soul. I inherited her wanderlust and found myself longing for new horizons as soon as the last box was unpacked. The longest I lived in one home was 8 years. 

After being a digital nomad for five years, I started craving a home base again. There’s something reassuring about having a place to leave your stuff (besides storage) and have it there when you return from an adventure. So I've put down some roots back on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina so I can be closer to my grown "kids" and my 2 adorable grandsons. Let me know when you’re in the area. I’d love to say hi! 👋

My favorite place to be is under the sea! I’ve been an avid scuba diver for over 38 years and that passion was the main reason I moved to Belize in 2016. Although I no longer live with the Caribbean at my  front door, I'm still on an island with gorgeous beaches just moments away. In addition to diving, I love sailing, boating, kayaking, jet-skiing, tubing, floating, swimming…well you get the drift. I love the ocean!
